Celebrating recent Licensing Approvals

After many hours liaising between venue Management, Committee or Board, the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR), and other stakeholders we (DWS) are very pleased to share with you the following liquor and gaming licenses approvals achieved over the past few months.

Nambour RSL

Having undergone a major refurbishment program over the past four years, Nambour RSL was awarded for their excellent design and service yet again with the best club award on the Sunshine Coast from Clubs Queensland.

DWS were engaged earlier in 2012 by Nambour RSL Services Club to undertake their gaming application to increase gaming machines. Nambour RSL was recently approved to increase their gaming machine fleet by 40 machines and DWS wish to extend our congratulations to the team at Nambour and wish them continued success.

The Golden Pig Food & Wine School

If you are looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane city why not drop into the hottest new venue sitting just on the outskirts in Newstead. The Golden Pig Food & Wine School is an oasis of calm sprung out of an old warehouse style unit situated midway along Ross Street just behind the Breakfast Creek Hotel. The school offers both hands-on and demonstration style cooking classes in a variety of popular cuisines and as of the granting of a liquor licence in December will also be offering appreciation classes in wine, beer and spirits.

The Golden Pig Food & Wine School offers a range of general classes which are open to the public and also offers private classes and events that can be tailored to suit groups, such as wine and food matching classes, corporate team building and special occasion classes. Children and teens can also get involved and attend classes so it can be a family day out. The premises are available for private bookings such as book launches, product showcases and corporate events.

You can book directly through their website which features a calendar of public and private events for the year ahead just in time for a post-Christmas treat www.goldenpig.com.au.

Rosa Mexicano, Graceville

Rosa Mexicano is the third venue in the chain of Mexican themed restaurants in the Western suburbs. It is located in the newly constructed Graceville Quarter development which also includes The Graceville Medical Centre along with a host of retailers and a café outlet. The restaurants specialise in traditional Mexican themed cuisine complimented by authentic Mexican style cocktails and beverages and there is also a take away option.

Leading up to the restaurant’s grand opening in December 2012 and the DWS team were on hand to co-ordinate all of their liquor licensing requirements. This is the sixth licence application that DWS has worked on with this restaurant group and we wish them every success in this latest venture.   www.rosamexicano.com.au

Golden Beach Tavern

he Golden Beach Tavernon the Sunshine Coast has recently undergone major capital renovations showcasing a refurbished dining facility, new café, alfresco dining, refurbished accommodation outlets and also a new gaming room.

DWS were engaged for all licensing applications along with the job of acquiring an additional 25 EGMs, prior to the application the Tavern held 20 gaming machines with the vision to hold the maximum number permitted by OLGR of 45.  Though there were many challenges throughout the application phase DWS were successful in obtaining approval within 6 months from the lodgement of the application. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Golden Beach Tavern on the success.
