John Dickson is one of Australia's most respected hospitality managers, with over 40 years’ experience in hospitality operations, and 25 years at a senior management level.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business with Distinction, is a Certified Club Manager, a Fellow of The Catering Institute of Australia, a qualified workplace trainer and university lecturer. He serves on many industry and government committees.

John is the founder and Managing Director of DWS and Club Training Australia. His enormous knowledge base has developed over many years in his various managerial roles, including managing the Powers group of hotels, overseeing catering operations at the MCG, managing the Brisbane Lions (Bears) and as the founding general manager for one of Australia’s most successful business clubs, the Brisbane Polo Club.

In 1997, John was recognised for his achievements in hospitality and voted by his peers as General Manager of the Year at Queensland’s industry awards.

John Dickson and his associates' expertise in hospitality management was recently acknowledged by the Queensland Government in appointing them to produce the Business Assistance Tool Kit for the Queensland Hospitality Industry.

John’s team was also the successful tenderer in a joint venture to deliver an industry specific training package on behalf of the State Government.

More recently John Dickson and two of his associates have been personally appointed by the Queensland Licensing Division to deliver the new mandatory training to licensees and nominees.

John’s clients include Accor Hotels, Queensland Government, Broncos Leagues Club, North Queensland Cowboys and Griffith University.
