DWS/ReachTEL Card-Based Gaming Survey

DWS recently commissioned ReachTEL to conduct 550 surveys spread throughout Queensland to find out the impact introducing card-based gaming in Queensland would have on gaming patrons.

The survey was completed in a few hours via ReachTEL's state of the art telephone system. Please note this is only a snapshot of information with more research required.

The Annual DWS Club Management Salary & Recruitment Survey 2010

I said in the 2009 survey, "that the financial crisis (GFC) had significantly changed the equation in what had previously been acute labour shortage and escalating salaries in the club industry".

To some degree in the last 12 months the financial impact of the GST is still evident in the most recent survey of club industry management salaries which has shown little change over the 2009 review, other than some marginal increases for inflation.

Whilst there are still some staff shortages in club industry, there were no signs of a significant increase in unemployment as had been previously predicted. However Dickson Wohlsen Strategies have found a continuing increase in the number and quality of candidates applying for positions in the club industry, this in itself may be a contributing factor to the stabilisation of management salaries over the last two years. Critical staff shortage for chefs in the industry in previous years also seemed to be easing as more chefs recognise the career opportunities in the club industry and clubs are recognising the level of remuneration necessary to attract competent qualified chefs to our industry.
