DWS/ReachTEL Card-Based Gaming Survey |
|

DWS recently commissioned ReachTEL to
conduct 550 surveys spread throughout Queensland to find out the impact
introducing card-based gaming in Queensland would have on gaming
patrons.
The survey was completed in a few hours via ReachTEL's state of the
art telephone system. Please note this is only a snapshot of information
with more research required.

The Annual DWS Club Management Salary & Recruitment Survey 2010 |
John Dickson Managing Director Dickson Wohlsen
Strategies
I said in the
2009 survey, "that the financial crisis
(GFC) had significantly changed the equation in what had previously been acute
labour shortage and escalating salaries in the club industry".
To some
degree in the last 12 months the financial impact of the GST is still evident
in the most recent survey of club industry management salaries which has shown
little change over the 2009 review, other than some marginal increases for
inflation.
Whilst there are
still some staff shortages in club industry, there were no signs of a
significant increase in unemployment as had been previously predicted. However Dickson
Wohlsen Strategies have found a continuing increase in the number and quality
of candidates applying for positions in the club industry, this in itself may
be a contributing factor to the stabilisation of management salaries over the
last two years. Critical staff shortage for chefs in the industry in previous years
also seemed to be easing as more chefs recognise the career opportunities in
the club industry and clubs are recognising the level of remuneration necessary
to attract competent qualified chefs to our industry.
