Lasseters is the centre of entertainment in Alice Springs offering guests an integrated resort with deluxe style accommodation rooms, multiple food and beverage outlets, casino, Health Club / Day Spa and an adjacent Convention Centre. Having recently completed a significant redevelopment programme Lasseters has an enhanced focus on the tourism and hospitality market by providing an exceptional experience to its patrons and guests.
A rare opportunity has arisen to join a vibrant team as the Executive Chef providing a strategic focus while rolling out the operational framework that underpins the direction of the business plan.  The Executive Chef will bring vitality, enthusiasm and fresh ideas that will reinvigorate the department to align with the significant investment of the wider Lasseters umbrella.
The Executive Chef is a leading and instrumental role that is responsible for the flawless execution of all elements of modern cuisine that support the focus of Lasseters.  As such, this role involves a level of leadership that role models exceptional standards and strives to achieve the highest quality at every opportunity.
Our portfolio of F&B outlets is wide ranging and supports the enhanced offerings where customers needs remain our top priority.  We have dining options from a la carte, buffet, tapas, healthy optioned and traditional fare that complements our unique setting.   These include:

  • Splash Cafe
  • Tempo
  • Tali Restaurant
  • Juicy Rump
  • Casbah
  • Alice Springs Convention Centre

The ideal person will have the energy and enthusiasm to support a kitchen department that last year carried out over 7,000 shifts amounting to nearly 60,000 paid hours of work by kitchen stewards, cooks and chefs across four kitchen areas.   With responsibility for a budget exceeding $12m and revenue generated from F&B this is a position that commands excellence.
The ideal candidate will have the tenacity and resilience to operate in the competitive and challenging hospitality environment where the negative factors of a remote location are seen as exciting opportunities to improve our position.  Through the developed skills of critical and constructive analysis, the successful applicant will optimise revenue opportunities and motivate team members to deliver an engaging customer experience while ensuring departmental profitability.
In addition the ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant and verified tertiary qualification
  • An ability to formulate menus and pricing regimes
  • An ability to oversee a team with wide ranging experience levels
  • Proven project management skills
  • Sound financial and administrative skills.

Interested applicants must be able to demonstrate significant experience and knowledge of the detailed nature of kitchen functionality through the active participation of a similar role operating at a senior management level that reflects parity with the Lasseters brand.
